Cape Town, South Africa – 10 April. The excitement erupted and the passion for football was prominently on display as diehard fans, local celebrities and legends of the game descended upon East City Studio in Cape Town for the second edition of the Heineken® House of Drama 2018.
Hearts were racing, and palms were sweating amongst guests as Real Madrid and Juventus went head to head during the show-stopping UEFA Champions League Quarter Final match, shown on a massive screen in the high-end venue. Luckily, ice cold Heinekens® were on hand to cool the heat created by the intensity of the game.
The evening was not short of drama as big names such as Steven Pienaar, Chris Njokwana, DJ Kamza, Ryan Botha, Julia Stuart and Chad Saaiman to name a few, graced the green carpet to share their passion for football with fans. With great enthusiasm, comes exceptional thrill and this was the name of the game as fans were treated to journey like no other. Every small detail was taken into consideration to create a dramatic vibe, from the grand arrival moments and the luxurious laidback couches dotted across the venue for guests to enjoy, to the innovative slow-motion photo booth specially designed to #ShareTheDrama. The theatrics didn’t conclude when the referee blew his whistle to end the game, as the DJ hit the deck to provide some epic tunes to celebrate victory.
“Tonight’s game brought the drama to life. What a match. Well, that’s the game of football for you. The thrill, the drama and the intensity. Takes me back to my UCL days. The crowd and the vibe at the Heineken House of Drama tonight was off the charts. It made the game even more real,” said Steven Pienaar.
The Heineken® House of Drama will be heading to Durban on the 1st of May for the third instalment of this epic event series whereby the UEFA Championship Semi-Final will deliver even more excitement and drama. Be prepared to share the drama with friends and fans like during an enthralling evening of fun, heat and passion.
The journey to ‘drama’ doesn’t end there. The final Heineken® House of Drama, taking place as Nasrec in Johannesburg on the 26th of May, is set to be even bigger and better than before and will be a night you won’t ever forget. Believe us when we say, drama will certainly own the night.
