19 August, Johannesburg, South African pop star and equestrian, Cara Frew is living her dream performing at various popular spots all around the world. True to her South African roots, the patriotic 24-year old star is excited about her musical journey. Scheduled to perform on the Live Stage at the Ultra Music Festival in Singapore on the 11th September, after a string of shows in Los Angeles and Croatia. “I am very humbled, excited and I feel so blessed to have an opportunity to perform at Ultra. This is one of the biggest shows I have ever been booked for” said an ecstatic Cara.
Born in Johannesburg, Cara has lived in France where she trained as an equestrian, a career that would see her compete in the World Games three times. A passionate and active child, Cara started singing at the age of seven. At age 18, she enrolled at the Los Angeles Song Writing School, a place that has become her second home. She has worked with top writers and producers that include Lauren Christy and Andre Lindal who together wrote Kelly Clarkson’s hit Stronger and Stefan Skarbek and Daniel Heath who have worked on various projects with Amy Winehouse and Lana Del Rey.
A patriot at heart, proud of her African roots, Cara is constantly working to make her country proud through her music. In 2014, she worked with BET Award-winning DJ, Black Coffee on a single titled I Will Find You. They performed together at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami earlier this year.
This beautiful songstress has just shot her music video to her chart-topping single Invisible at the Cradle of Humankind. Invisible is a song that talks about emotional abuse, a subject close to Cara’s heart.
Cara has a series of shows at Hard Rock Café in Palm Springs in California from tonight, 19th August to the 3rd September before heading off to Singapore.
