On Wednesday, 16 June, artist Sho Madjozi became the latest Changemaker to collaborate with Unlocked.Me by Nedbank as part of their YouthX programme. The multitalented SAMA and BET award winner joined the programme as the Arts & Entertainment Changemaker, to help South African youth unlock their potential by sharing her personal journey, life lessons and tips on managing money.
To celebrate Youth Day on Wednesday, Nedbank hosted its third YouthX Live event where Madjozi shared key lessons in Arts & Entertainment, like her journey as a South African artist whose unique music went global, as well as some tips on how to set yourself up for success, making sure that the youth are equipped and ready to unlock their potential. Madjozi also performed during the event to commemorate the special day.
The event had three segments: Money Talks, TalkX and a Power Panel. The latter featured LaSizwe Dambuza, reality TV personality, social-media influencer, radio host, and YouTuber, as well as Gugu Sidaki, wealth manager and co-founder of Wealth Creed. The panel was facilitated by presenter and radio host Nomalanga Shozi.
‘It’s great to see yet another successful YouthX Live event take place and what better way to educate and empower the South African youth than with a Youth Day celebration. As we continue with this programme, we hope that the knowledge that has been shared by our Changemakers and industry experts will assist in creating unmatched opportunities for the eager youth who join our YouthX Live events. As we celebrate Youth Month, we hope that young people can learn from them and be inspired to drive positive change in their communities,’ said Khensani Nobanda, Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nedbank.
