Johannesburg, 27 July – Khaya Mthethwa touts his newest album as an experience with Jesus. All About Jesus Album available in stores and digitally today! Packed with 11 powerfully rousing and inspirational gospel songs, Khaya hopes this, his fourth album, will provide the one encounter somebody needs to wake up to the Good News. Khaya who is now a pastor at the Oasis Church in Durban with branches dotted across the land, has provided the praise and worship team of about twelve at the Umlazi branch a platform to shine on All About Jesus.
He features some of the Oasis Worship singers as solo acts on a couple of songs: Nozipho Sibiya stuns in Stand For Me Again, Hlengiwe Ntombela-Mthethwa impresses in Name Above All Names and Nosipho Mthabela gives her all in Ngcwele. All About Jesus also features American Gospel singer and songwriter VaShawn Mitchell on the powerful Atmosphere.
“We set out to create praise and worship music to uplift people and speak about Jesus. Our focus is on him. We spend too much time on our problems, but we reckoned that for a moment we could forget everything and just focus on Jesus. And it was important that we sing simple songs, that could catch on easily, and whoever is listening could find strength,” explains Khaya.
The mix of up-tempo and mid-tempo songs makes All About Jesus a spiritually fulfilling release with something for everybody. For example Igama Lakho which extols the name of the Lord is a beautifully composed high energy praise song and on Ongiholayo Khaya slows down the tempo without losing the energy as he gives the traditional chorus a young spin.
“We never want to be in a position where we forget the songs we grew up on. We are custodians of these messages for the next generations. We should never lose the essence of the songs but keep up with the times by keeping them young, vibrant and energetic. This particular song is an anthem in our church, there is always an eruption when we sing it,” he shares.

“All the music we write come from the stage at church. This is what we perform at our services on Sunday. The album defines the music in our church. We are creating a sound that comes from our pulpit It’s also personal and special to us because the praise and worship get their first recording. I have been here three or four records ago. I hope this recording transforms their lives and those of their families and that they start a new chapter.”
