Barbra Streisand
My dear Céline, it’s me, Barbara. I’m so happy that you’re feeling better and that you’ve decided to return to the concert stage in the magnificent city of light, Paris, France. Bonne chance! Your love of music is deeply felt by your many fans, and I’m one of them. Apple asked me to pick my favorite Céline record, and that’s not an easy choice, but I think listeners will understand why I’m choosing the song “Tell Him,” produced by our friends, David Foster and Walter [Afanasieff.] It was so much fun singing with you. We’ve even filmed it. If you want to show a piece of it, it exists. It was fun going for all those high notes, and you know what? I think we sound pretty darn good together. Wishing you great success with your shows, and of course, continued good health. I really hope to see you soon. Avec amour, much love, Barbra.
Shania Twain
It was very moving seeing Céline Dion back up on the stage again in Paris. The audience was so attentive and she just had us all in the palm of her hand, as she always does. Only Céline could face the challenges that she’s facing and show extraordinary courage. She’s a true athlete, a genius, and one of my greatest heroes. We are just so happy that you’re back out on stage again, Céline, and the whole world has been waiting for you. We all know this is where your heart is, on the stage with your fans. We love you.
David Foster
I have a lot of favorite singers, but I think Céline is really at the top of my list, selfishly because when I’m in the studio with her and all those years I was in the studio with her, she would always do exactly what I was imagining that I wanted. We love Céline Dion.
Michael Bublé
Bonjour, Céline. It’s Michael Bublé. I was 22 years old when we met for the first time. I was backstage, very nervous at the theater, and even though you didn’t know me, you still held my hand and comforted me. You’re everything that we hoped you would be, kind, generous, and you give so much light. Not only are you the greatest voice ever, but one of the most beautiful people, and as a fellow artist and fellow Canadian, well, I don’t think there are enough words to tell you how much I love you. I’m so happy that you continue to shine the light and inspire. Love you so much.
Josh Groban
Céline, it’s Josh Groban. I will never ever forget the kindness that you showed me so early in my career. It’s a kindness that so many have been able to experience from you, if not firsthand, then through your soul, through your music, through your voice. It has touched millions. We love you, I love you, and we can’t wait to continue hearing you shine on any stage that you grace. Keep being you, my friend.
Chloe Bailey
Hey, Céline, it’s Chloe Bailey. I just wanted to tell you how much your voice and your artistry has inspired me. I grew up listening to you and I have always been in such awe of not only the power of your voice, but the emotion behind it. You’ve shown me as an artist that having a gift is one thing, but being able to make people feel something with that gift is what makes it timeless. Thank you for inspiring me and so many of us, and for giving the world a legacy that will live forever. I love you.Anne Murray
Hi, Céline. This is Anne Murray, congratulating you on yet another remarkable achievement. It’s a testament to your hard work and determination that your magnificent voice has not been silenced. As a fellow Canadian, I feel very proud. You are a true inspiration.
Cœur de pirate
Hi, Céline. This is Béatrice [Mireille Martin], also known as Cœur de pirate. The first time I heard your voice, I was very small, but it had a profound impact on how I saw music and how I saw how a song could be both in English and in French. It’s everything. Thank you for existing and welcome back.
Jann Arden
Céline Dion, it’s Jann Arden. I just want to be one of the tens of thousands, of hundreds of thousands, of millions of people that are just adding their voice to being so elated that you are back on the stage, that you are back in a place of such joy and such exaltation. It has been such a blast watching you outside your Paris hotel room, never mind being on the stage, thrilling people night after night, but being in front of the hotel, dancing and singing and signing things and just entertaining everyone, being so kind and so generous with your time, with all of those people that are there waiting for you and just wanting to pour their love on you.Your voice is the voice of not only a generation, but of all of damn humanity. I have probably seen you more than any other artist in my life live. I can’t count the times, probably 25 or 30 times over the years, all over the place, and I just want to say that I’m just happy for you. I’m happy for all of humanity, and we could sure use a lot of Céline Dion joy right now, and you are bringing it. Thank you, thank you for being so steadfast, for being so determined. You are inspiring, so inspiring, so filled with so much love that it is just infectious, and the world needs you.
Mark Carney, Prime Minster of Canada
Céline Dion has a voice that stops you in your tracks and lifts you to the stars. It’s not only the scale of her talent, but also the determination behind it.
She’s gone from Charlemagne to the biggest stages in the world, carrying Canada’s languages, music, and people with her. And through it all, “On ne change pas.” She has remained unmistakably Céline. Canadians have joined the whole world, watching with such pride her return to the stage. We knew what it took for her to be there and we are blessed that she had the determination to do so.
Bon show ! Et puis bravo à toute ta gang. Un salut tout spécial à Scott, que j’aime beaucoup.
[English translation]Céline, it’s your fellow Quebecer Pierre Lapointe here. I wanted to wish you a wonderful show in Paris. I didn’t get the chance to come see you because something came up. I was supposed to be there on September 16, and much to my dismay and disappointment, I couldn’t make it. My partner was there, though. He told me all about the show. It sounded extraordinary. I’m telling myself there’ll be another chance. To me, you remain an untouchable, extraordinary figure. I’m a huge fan of the song “D’amour et d’amitié.” To me, what Eddy Marnay wrote for you is one of the greatest songs in the entire French-speaking world, across all eras. As a specialist and lover of sad songs, I can tell you that this one really moves me deeply. So, have a great show, and congratulations on everything. You’re a goddess. There you go. You’re a goddess. And if one day you ever feel like singing a sad song with me, I’ll always be up for it.Have a great show! And congratulations to your whole crew. A very special hello to Scott, whom I’m very fond of.
