Armand Joubert has released a brand new single, entitled Sun Back through Universal Music South Africa. The single comes after the release of his previous two singles, ‘Should I’ in 2017 (which reached #1 on the 5FM Pop Charts) and ‘So Gone’ in February 2018 (which reached #1 on the Jacaranda SA Top 20).
Sun Back was written a while ago with the aim to create a feel-good song that people will relate and vibe to in the Summer. It was produced by Bubele Booi, who has produced for acts like Craig Lucas, Dominic Neill, Ryki and Lady Zamar, and will make fans want to put their dancing shoes on and start grooving.
“It’s about being in love and vibing with the ones you love. Put the sun back in sky, as in we choose our happiness, we choose to live our best lives.”
Although featuring Armand’s ignature falsetto notes, Armand went a complete different direction as to what he normally does when writing songs, and describes SUN BACK as his best work thus far. He co-wrote the single with Jannes Erasmus and Ndumiso Manana and they changed the original pre-chorus to something more catchy, combined with a melody by Manana for the bridge.
“I feel like the youth of today will identify with the song the most, but I also think that it will be the case where a young boy/girl plays the song to their parents and the whole family ends up digging it. I am very proud of this as my third single – great lyrical content with good rhythm and melody and is the perfect representation of the direction I want to go in with my music.”
