The photos of Red Café and Chip in Dubai surfaced on Instagram last month, leading the way for a series of reposts and tweets from fans and entertainment websites, and preparing fans for what would inevitably be one seriously weighty link up.
Following the phenomenal response to ‘Abu Dabbin’, which has been viewed over 1.2 million times on YouTube, Dubai based SOS Music and Ayo Beatz enlist Brooklyn’s Red Café and grime’s finest, Chip, for the indomitable remix.
A wonderful reworking on the beat and the addition of a clapping bassline throughout the record takes the record to a new place sonically, whilst the addition of influence and flavour from New York’s Hip-Hop scene and London’s Grime scene add to the tracks major appeal. Weighing in alongside the refixed verses from SOS Music, Red Café opens up the record and Chip shuts things down with an unapologetic final 24.
