Press Release:
Just as one of the featured tracks means “Till the sun sets” this concept can easily be applied to the EP as a whole. An EP that can be listened to without growing tired of listening to it and still maintaining the feelings from when you first heard it.
King Bayaa is a producer and remixer gaining much respect by the day. With his track “Ravishing” being featured in Quantizied 7 and still making crowds dance in enjoyment, you learn not to overlook any piece of work he does.
He is back with his 4th EP titled “Been Around” released under Bainaar Records. You’ll be surprised to learn that there isn’t a deep rooted meaning behind the name. If anything, it purely represents his 10 year long journey of which he fits perfectly into this 4 track EP for the listeners enjoyment.
“Kusvika Radoka” was greatly received and loved when the radio edit was released and it will still gain popularity for its rhythmic beats and catchy hook. In this production he worked with vocalists from South Africa and Zimbabwe giving it lyrical diversity but still maintaining the original meaning in both Zulu and Shona.
“Phela Nguwe” brings Soulfulness to the EP, with its many deep and defining elements that complement the vocals from Sbu Ngema, a vocalist he has worked with for over 2 years.
“Being Careless” as well as “The Glory Days” showcases his ability to make timeless music that will still be enjoyed years to come.
In short: A journey of music and emotions is what you will experience.

Yule’s Review:
King Bayaa has been at work this year, releasing 1 EP after the other and remixing other people’s tracks and turning them into dance floor hits.
King Bayaa has been around for at least 10 years now, so his Been Around EP is something from the heart. It comes with 4 tracks that will take over this December but this time around, King Bayaa has gone Deep (no, not Deep Tech but Deep House). He is truly motivated with 2 tracks on the EP sounding like they could be featured on compilations come early next year, a 3rd touching the hearts and the 4th set to be 1 of King Bayaa’s most recognized tracks to date.
“Phela Nguwe” – When Sbu and King Bayaa team up they can do no wrong and that is the case in this song. They have worked well together over the years and their connection is truly evident here. As they have created beautiful vocals to be used with amazing beats, making a love song that will touch all hearts. A special song for couples, mainly males looking to propose to that special someone.
“Being Careless” – this sounds more Deep House than anything I’ve come across from King Bayaa and that isn’t a big shock because he has been experimenting a lot this year (if you remember, he had a track that had some Progressive House elements), I wouldn’t be surprised if this track were to be played after or before a Rocco track, or it be played by Rocco himself, it took me back to “Sparkling Dust”.
“Kusvika Radoka” has been included and I’m glad because this is will be the song that King Bayaa will be judged by commercially in 2014 as we enter the festive season, the that people will quote before they go partying.
“The Glory Days” – This 1 of those tracks you will hear in the club and run to the DJ to ask him what it is, it will hit you. There is this build up in this song that King Bayaa once spoke off, how Deep House used to be and somewhat still is to some producers. A build up, that hits with a climax and comes back with a bang. We might as well say King Bayaa is making a statement with this song, a very strong one.
Been Around EP is set to take the game to another level as King Bayaa cements his name in the industry as the best producers. If you didn’t know him before, now you do, his name is King Bayaa
