Dec 17, 2021, Cape Town – South African anonymous collective Dahl Hates Disco first hit the scene seemingly out of the blue during the summer of 2017 with their debut single ‘Endless Motion‘ that hit top 10 on multiple charts on SA radio including 5fm, Goodhope FM, Heart FM, Algoa FM and more.
The single was followed by two EP releases and additional singles including ‘I’ll Never Be’, but the collective thereafter took a prolonged hiatus whilst embarking on other projects. They have since decided to return with another EP scheduled for early 2022 release on soWHAT Records.
The first single from the EP titled ‘So Long, So Fast’ (release date Oct 22, 2021), features an uptempo indie-pop band production splattered with 80’s influences and gripping melodies, emotionally delivered by vocalist duo Mark & Darya. The lyrics explore themes of escape & renewed discovery. The single peaks at the end with an uplifting guitar-driven crescendo.
