Johannesburg, Friday, 12 June 2026 – South African Amapiano innovator, CowBoii opens a deeply personal new chapter with the release of “uHAMBO 2.0,” a soulful and spiritually charged record featuring Azi. Serving as the first official chapter in the rollout of his highly anticipated forthcoming album iKati Elimhlophe, set for 30 June, the single finds one of Amapiano’s most forward-thinking voices exploring themes of healing, reflection and reconnection. Built around the idea of returning home, both physically and emotionally, “uHAMBO 2.0” is a powerful reminder that growth sometimes requires revisiting the places, people and foundations that shaped us.

A continuation of “uHambo,” a standout record from his previous album TAAI, the new release expands on a story that has remained close to CowBoii’s heart. While the original explored the journey itself, “uHAMBO 2.0” digs deeper into the emotional realities many people face as they navigate life’s pressures, uncertainties and personal battles. Through soulful melodies, spiritual undertones and honest storytelling, the record speaks directly to a generation searching for direction while trying to build a better future.

The single introduces the emotional core of a project that reflects a generation navigating identity, love, ambition, heartbreak, friendship, community and personal growth. With, iKati Elimhlophe, Cowboii represents a broader cultural statement from an artist increasingly recognized as the voice of modern township youth. Through music, fashion, football culture and storytelling, he continues to document the realities, aspirations and evolution of young people finding their place in a rapidly changing world.

At the centre of “uHAMBO 2.0” is a message that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. The song explores the importance of returning home when life becomes overwhelming, not necessarily because something is wrong, but because healing can often be found in reconnecting with one’s roots. For CowBoii, home remains a source of peace, grounding and perspective, a place capable of restoring clarity when life’s challenges become difficult to navigate.

The collaboration with Azi adds an extraordinary emotional layer to the record. Their chemistry feels natural and deeply intentional, elevating the song’s themes of healing and spiritual reflection. One of the defining moments during the creation of the record came when CowBoii first heard Azi’s contribution.

“I cried when I heard Azi’s verse for the first time,” says CowBoii. “I couldn’t even write my own verse properly after that. It was one of the most emotional moments I’ve experienced in the studio.“

Sonically, “uHAMBO 2.0” showcases another side of CowBoii’s artistry. While his catalogue has often balanced energetic Rapiano experimentation with dancefloor-ready records, this release leans fully into soulful textures, emotional storytelling and spiritual depth. The record reflects an artist becoming increasingly comfortable with vulnerability, using music not only as entertainment but also as a vehicle for healing and reflection.

As anticipation builds towards the arrival of iKati Elimhlophe on 30 June, “uHAMBO 2.0” serves as both an invitation and a message of hope. In a world that constantly demands movement, achievement and progress, CowBoii offers a simple reminder, sometimes healing begins when you find your way back home.
