Over 40 million visitors in over 100 cities around the world have been awed and inspired by BODY WORLDS. Now, due to popular demand, the BODY WORLDS Vital Cape Town exhibition is extending to Sunday, 27 November 2016 at the V&A Waterfront. Tyrone Thöle, Managing Director of Great World Exhibitions, is particularly pleased to continue offering the opportunity for visitors to experience this unique and highly informative exhibition. “With the end of year exams just weeks away, BODY WORLDS Vital is the perfect platform for school learners and students to revise relevant subjects on the human body. The anatomical exhibition elevates the learning experience to a three-dimensional level of understanding.” To avoid the last minute rush for tickets, patrons are encouraged to book as soon as possible via www.bodyworldsvital.co.za.

But BODY WORLDS is not only geared to students, the display is a must-see for everybody. Presented by Discovery Health, Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS Vital exhibition is the perfect tool to raise awareness for both the fragility as well as resilience of the human body. “As an organisation that continually looks for new ways to help people live healthier lives, we believe Dr Gunther von Hagens’ groundbreaking preservation process offers people a real-life opportunity to experience the wonder of the human body,” says Discovery Health CEO, Dr Jonathan Broomberg. “A specific focus for Discovery Health is to give people relevant tools and support to take care of their health and wellness at every stage of their lives, and through preventive medicine and innovative lifestyle interventions, our aim is to help prevent the onset and manage health conditions affected by lifestyle choices,” adds Broomberg.

The BODY WORLDS Vital experience is a not to be missed outing. “The most amazing exhibition I have ever seen – I found it emotional on many levels – and left me feeling quite humble,” says Julie B while Sheree W found the exhibition to be “Amazing, I brought the family ages 10, 16, 22, 51 and we all loved it. Truly fascinating and makes you think about the future. Excellent”. “As a nurse and scientist, I found Body Worlds fascinating…” and “The Vital exhibition is AMAZING! As a fashion illustration lecturer it was so inspirational – thank you!” are just some of the complimentary comments received from thousands of visitors of varying ages, interests and backgrounds.

For sports and fitness fans, plastinates in athletic sports poses illustrate the use of muscle systems while practicing sport or exercising. These poses are chosen to highlight specific anatomical features and allow the visitor to better understand the interaction between bones, muscles, tendons and relate it to his or her own body.

The plastinated bodies on display have all been willed by donors for Plastination. This unique conservation process, invented by trail-blazing anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens has rendered the specimens dry and odourless. Over 16.000 people are currently registered in the body donation program administered by the Institute for Plastination in Heidelberg, Germany.

Book now! BODY WORLDS Vital must close on Sunday, 27 November 2016. The exhibition is open every day of the week between 10h00 and 19h00. For more information and bookings, visit www.bodyworldsvital.co.za.
