Following the critical success of his first song, ‘Better Love’, The Voice Nigeria season two winner and Universal Music Nigeria artiste, IDYL has released a brand new single, ‘OWAMI’. The song, which features South African songstress and fellow Universal Music act, Lungi, is an electro-fusion and house inspired homage to contemporary Nigerian dance music.
“Besides being an exciting song , Owamirepresents a cultural bridge between South Africa and Nigeria. The song is immediately relatable by listeners and fans in the two countries and indeed across the continent. I can’t wait for our fans to hear it.”
Incorporating IDYL’s distinctive Afro-pop approach and Lungi’s soulful sound, Owami was co-written by the pair and produced by fast-rising Nigerian producer Ckay who also helped produce ‘Better Love’.
“Recording this song with Lungi has only reemphasized the fact that Nigeria and South Africa have more musical similarities than differences,” added IDYL.
