The “First Sundays of Summer” continues Sunday 4 December when Vergenoegd Wine Estate in Stellenbosch hosts Ard Matthews for the estate’s second Live@Vergenoegd Summer Concert Series.
Kick off the Cape Town summer holiday season with friends and family by booking your spot on the green lawns for a wonderful day out in the summer sun with delicious Vergenoegd wine and food from a variety of vendors.
The overwhelming success of the first-ever Live@Vergenoegd featuring Goodluck on 6 November saw hundreds of people of all ages enjoy the concert – and this has cemented Live@Vergenoegd as a must-do activity on the summer calendar.
As the front man of South African band, Just Jinjer, Ard Matthews has become sought-after as a solo artist with the release of his debut solo album in the winter of 2012 to critical acclaim. Now with three solo albums behind his name, Ard has a lot of offer his live audience. Look forward to hearing some of his hits including “Stay Together” and “More Fire” and “Providence”.
Tickets are only R120 per adult and R50 for under 12’s (with a dedicated kids’ area to keep the little ones entertained). Vergenoegd wine, food and drinks will be on sale on the day from a great selection of traders (note: you may not bring your own food or drinks).
Or choose a Live@Vergenoegd VIP Package – and we’ll take care of everything for you. VIP packages are sold in pairs, but we’ll gladly accommodate uneven numbers. For R1100 per package you get:
- Two tickets to the concert;
- VIP parking and entrance;
- A separate area with an excellent view of the stage;
- Comfortable seating;
- Private toilets;
- Access to the main concert area;
- Catering that includes two bottles of Vergenoegd Runner Duck red, white or rose, a selection of delicious food and a 750ml bottle of water;

Each concert begins at 12:00 and ends at 18:00. The music kicks off with an opening act at 14:30, with the headline act on stage at 16:00.
