Johannesburg, Monday, 23 September 2024 – This Heritage Day, Rainbow Nation Kids releases a special rendition of ‘Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika’ (South African National Anthem) featuring the IMAD Khayelitsha Junior Choir.
Rainbow Nation Kids is the brainchild of South African singer, songwriter and producer Lungi Naidoo. Over the past year, Rainbow Nation Kids have released two albums ‘Zulu Nursery Rhymes’ and ‘Mzansi Lullabies’ as well as a Zulu Nursery Rhymes children’s book.
Talking about the new single ‘Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika’ (South African National Anthem), Naidoo says: “Recording the National Anthem with these amazing kids has been the highlight of my year. What an amazing experience. Please enjoy and sing along.”
The single was recorded at Milestone Studios in Cape Town, South Africa and produced by Lungi Naidoo and her co-producer Ryan Sackanary. “A Rainbow Nation is who we are as South Africans. It’s a wonderful love story of where we come from and the promise of a beautiful future for our children”

Rainbow Nation Kids has previously released Zulu Nursery Rhymes in which the project founder Lungi Naidoo created a much needed contribution to South African culture by collaborating with Kids from KwaZulu-Natal to create an album and corresponding sing-a-long lyric book with the vision to help bring music back to schools and educate children through the gift of music.
