Johannesburg, South Africa – March 27, 2020 – Simmy, real name Simphiwe Nhlangulela, has been a fan favourite for the past 3 years in the music industry and continues to grace us with her subtle voice and spine chilling lyrics. Simmy has also cemented her place in the Afro-Pop music scene.
Her breakout hit “Umahlalela” peaked at #9 on the Top 100 airplay charts and spent over 33 weeks on various radio charts which ultimately lead her being named the 4th Most Streamed Female Artist in South Africa!
Her follow up single “Ngiyesaba,” then made its debut in 2019 and was featured on the Trace Top 30 Africa Chart for over 2 weeks and proved that Simmy is a force to be reckoned with amongst African artists.
With chart topping hits from her debut album Tugela Fairy, which officially reached Gold status, Simmy shows no signs of slowing down. Her new single “Ngihamba Nawe” listen here: https://SonyMusicAfrica.lnk.to/snnDC is expected to be another chart topping favourite!
When asked about “Ngihamba Nawe” Simmy says, “the single was co-written by Sino Msolo and I while Sun-El Musician was putting together the music we just felt that it had to be a happy love song. Then from there created a dialogue that would be between a lady and a guy who sort of liked each other but weren’t sure if the other feels the same.”
“What my fans can expect in the near future is definitely more music and I am currently working on my sophomore album which they should expect sometime this year” says Simmy.
