After being named the ‘Freshman Of The Year’ at the SA Hip Hop Awards 2014 for his debut album ‘Dreams.A.Plenty’, we are proud to announce that Solo has been nominated once again.
Solo, who released his highly anticipated sophmore album just over 2 months ago, has been nominated for a 2016 SA Hip Hop Award in the ‘Lyricist of the year’ category for ‘Dreams.B.Plenty’ which features fellow South African musicians, Kabomo, Ziyon & Buks to name a few.
This was not the only nod Solo received at the award nomination announcement, which took place on Friday, 11 November at the Museum Africa in Newtown, Johannesburg. The rap collaboration, consisting of artists, Solo & Buks who make up Betr Gang, received a nomination for their joint album released in November 2015 titled ‘We Need A Title’. Betr Gang introduced the fans to their creative music piece by allowing them to purchase the album for any amount they felt the album was worth, with their new concept, #BETRPayAnyAmount.
