Better known as Soulistic Music, the Black Coffee owned indie record label recently changed their business model and now operate as a talent and events management agency called Soulistic Agency. The agency and their talent are along with the rest of South Africa finding themselves new ways to live with the unforeseen Covid-19 pandemic and living under lockdown. Fans can expect new music, livestream performances and see how they favourite artists at Soulistic Agency are living during physical distancing.
The agency houses talent such as Black Coffee, Da Capo, Distruction Boyz, Enoo Napa, Holly Rey, Punk Mbedzi, Trevor Stuurman and Rich Mnisi. The latest addition to the agency is the award winning Holly Rey and the first female artist to sign to the agency, as someone who lives with type 1 Diabetes Holly Rey has appealed to South Africans to practice physical distancing and shared content on how she’s keeping busy with family during the #stayhome. She is set to release some music during the lockdown period along with Black Coffee who has hinted on his social media platforms #AlbumLoading and Da Capo who last released an album Indigo Child in 2017 has also hinted that something is coming on Twitter. The Durban duo Distruction Boyz are embarking on solo projects for this year, with Goldmax set to release an EP in May and Que to follow suite.
Festivals, concerts and events around the world have been postponed and cancelled due to Covid-19, as the producers and curators of Africa Is Not A Jungle Soulistic Agency will be presenting a LOCKDOWN edition of livestreams on Youtube and Facebook with various dance music djs every Thursday evenings from 18:00 – 23:00. Black Coffee kicked off his first of weekly livestreams residency called Home Brewed this past weekend with an active Go-Fund-Me account for the recipients of the Solidarity Fund South Africa to help raise funds and build awareness to the Covid-19 pandemic. The livestreams will be every Saturdays at 21:00 via his Facebook page (@realblackcoffee). Punk Mbedzi & Da Capo will be featured in this weekends Channel O Lockdown House Party by DJ PH and Shimza on Saturday 11 April, these are some of the few activities fans can look forward to from Soulistic Agecy.
