The Berlin duo ‘Tale Of Us’ touched down in South Africa and their first gig was in Braamfontein’s AND Club, with a lineup that featured Jazzuelle, Trancemicsoul, Dogstar and Fabio.
AND Club, which is situated beneath Alexandre Theatre has been 1 of the been known to host some of the best Dance Music events and has a very strong following, so it was no surprise that Tale Of Us would be playing here. Another bonus is AND Club has the best sound and sound setup, so you already know you will experience the best with the best.
Despite how quiet Braamfontein was that night, AND Club filled up.
I was able to catchDogstar, Fabio Trancemicsoul and the headliner, Tale Of Us.
Already familiar with Dogstar and Fabio’d Progressive Sound, they were at ease and quick to get the crowd on the dance floor, which quickly set the mood for the night.
Trancemicsoul impressed the most, for me. Mostly because he has been known to produce a very laidback soulful sound but his DJ set that night was nothing laidback. Heavy on the Bass, with a mixture of Progressive and UK Underground Deep House, the crowd wasn’t prepared for him and neither was I. This is a side of Trancemicsoul that will blow away the Dance Music Industry, when they catch on, on him.
Tale Of Us stepped up but first let the crowd thank Trancemicsoul for his set, then they got to it. They wasted no time, didn’t let the crowd have a break. They dropped the heaviest bass I have heard at an event, they unleashed a sound that had the crowd at their fingertips, from the get go and made sure everyone kept dancing till the end.
Overall, the event, from DJ side to the crowd was a success. The reception was great and everyone came prepared to dance. The only concerns were from AND Club’s ventilation system, as it gets very hot down there. The continuous abuse of the smoke machines didn’t make things any more pleasant.
A big shout out to Bridges For Music, Red Bull Studio, Cape Town, SAE Institute and Olmeca Tequilla for this event, it was truly something else.
