TRESOR continues to take us on his nostalgic upbringing with by proudly releasing the next single off of his upcoming album with Cape Town duo, Beatenberg titled Aphrodite.
The album; cleverly titled Nostalgia – takes the listener through a musical journey of TRESOR growing up. The 13 track album also features some of the biggest names in the game such as Super Mega AKA; multi-award winning trio The Soil; Kenyan Pop Group Sauti Sol; contemporary singer Msaki; Kwaito rapper Kwesta; DRC singer Lokua Kanza; Afro Pop Group Mafikizolo and pop trio Beatenberg – who now join TRESOR for the new single Aphrodite.
In a short statement, TRESOR went on to share his excitement on the release of the single, Aphrodite “I am truly thrilled to share this song Aphrodite a collaboration with my Beatenberg brother’s. This song was written and produced in Cape Town throughout summer last year. Matthew Field, from Beatenberg, and I wanted to create a musical piece that reflects the sound that we both grew up listening up. We both love Greek mythology and history, so we wanted to play with idea of falling deeply in love with Aphrodite; an ancient Greek goddess associated with love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. We had so much fun making this song and I think we created something truly magical. Excited to share it with the world.”- TRESOR.
Matthew Field also shared his excitement on the collaboration with TRESOR, “I am grateful to have been able to work with TRESOR again; I’ve learned a lot from him and it’s always a pleasure to hang out and make music together. This song has been ‘in the works’ for a while and I’m very fond of it. I remember driving on the highway at night after a session listening to the rough version and feeling a particular way. I looked forward then to when other people would get to hear it – now that’s happening and I’m very glad.”
TRESOR’s Nostolgia Album is set to drop in January 2019 on all music platforms.
