Johannesburg, October 19, 2017 – Following her recent partnership with global talent agency, Celebrity Services Africa, renowned TV and radio personality Tumi Voster, is excited to announce that she has been selected as one of seven celebrity contestants to take part in the next season of the wildly popular TV show, Tropika Island of Treasure.
Set to take place on the idyllic white beaches of the Maldives, this 8th season of the show will be hosted by the entertaining Katlego Maboe and will see a compelling cast of icons joining Tumi, including musical icons Brendan Peyper and Karabo Mogane, celebrated actors Khanya Mkangisa and Nay Maps, former Miss South Africa Melinda Bam and Fitness Bunny Sbahle Mpisane.
Similar to previous seasons, members of the public have auditioned and will be paired with one of the seven celebrities to compete in a variety of challenges in the hopes to share a smooth R1 million.
On what Tumi is looking for in her partner, she said, “I am looking for someone who is physically and mentally strong, with a bubbly personality, a partner who knows how to have a good time and is able to balance a challenge with an equal amount of fun!”
“Even though we all want to get our hands on the R1million prize money, the most exciting part of it for me is getting to know everyone, creating unforgettable memories, and of course enjoying my time on the beautiful islands of the Maldives!”
Included in the Mail & Guardian’s list of Top 200 Young South Africans in Arts and Entertainment for 2017, Tumi originally warmed herself into hearts and homes across South Africa as a YOTV presenter on SABC1, at the age of 15. Since, she has played host to the hit e.tv dance reality competition Step Up or Step Out, with Emily Jansen, Khabonina Qubeka and Euphonik as well as SABC 3’s Win A Home alongside Maps Maponyane and Cindy Nell.
Most notably, Tumi has also made a name for herself in radio, where she started with a slot at YFM, producing and co-hosting the evening show Undisputed alongside DJ Warras, and currently hosts 5FM Nights and The Saturday Situation weekend show on 5FM.
Adding frequent traveller to her list of vocations, Tumi is always up for an adventure, most recently having returned from a stint in Thailand and the French island of Reunion. “The Maldives has always been one of my bucket list of destinations. I’m very excited about this new tropical challenge and plan on making the absolute most of it!”
Tropika Island of Treasure Season 8 will air on SABC 3 from February, 2018.
