It’s one of the biggest jackpots ever in the history of the South African National Lottery! The PowerBall jackpot has rolled over one more time and now stands at an estimated R188-million ahead of tonight’s draw.
This massive prize pool offers players two opportunities to win big: the main PowerBall jackpot stands at an estimated R52-million, while the PowerBall Xtra jackpot has skyrocketed to R136-million.
To play PowerBall, select five numbers from one to 50, and an additional (PowerBall) number from one to 16.
PowerBall Xtra gives players a second chance to win using the same numbers from the main PowerBall ticket. For an additional R5 per board, a player’s chosen numbers are entered into a completely separate, secondary draw that takes place immediately after the main game. A player may only win the estimated R136 million Xtra jackpot if the winning ticket was bought for the main PowerBall draw.
Even if a ticket misses out on the main PowerBall jackpot, those identical numbers remain fully in the running to snag the independent PowerBall Xtra jackpot.
PowerBall tickets are available from authorised National Lottery retailers nationwide, online and through participating banking platforms. They cost R10 each and R5 for Powerball Xtra. Sales close 30 minutes before the live televised draw that takes place at 9pm this Friday on SABC1, SABC2 and eTV.
Players are encouraged to check their tickets carefully after the draw and to sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchase.
