P.A.I.D. to be the first track off nOrth gOd
One of South Africa’s hottest Hip Hop artists, Da L.E.S, shot the video for his new single P.A.I.D., along with AKA and Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, recently, following hot on the heels of the trio’s collaboration on the hit All Eyes on Me.
Just back from Mauritius where he performed as a member of the CÎROC Circle of African talent at the CÎROC Pineapple Global launch, DA L.E.S. is currently in studio finishing work on his much-anticipated album, nOrth gOd, the follow-up to Mandela Money.
Produced by VAM and directed by Seasan Ogunro – well known for his work with Nigerian Hip Hop stars D’Banj, Wande Coal, Don Jazzy, Davido and Wiz Kid – this will be the first time the respected Nigerian director has worked with a South African artist.
Ogunro’s most recent work features Davido with US rapper Meek Mill, to be dropped internationally in the next month.
The video for P.A.I.D. comes with all the VIP style and next-generation swagger Da L.E.S.’s fans have come to expect, along with a signature, high-energy groove that marks a fusion of African beats with international hip hop sounds.
“The inspiration behind P.A.I.D is the luxury lifestyle we all aspire to, as well as seizing the moment to celebrate what we have achieved through hard work. Every individual featured on the record has achieved massive success and is still setting higher goals to do more” says Da L.E.S.
Meanwhile, nOrth gOd will be released in the next couple of months. What to expect from the artist, who always keeps his fans guessing?
“A new sound that’s a little more mature, a new story as this is a new chapter in my life and of course a new found energy. New listeners will find great aspiring lyrical content and international sound that exudes an undeniable sense of having arrived” says Da L.E.S.
Da L.E.S. has been a CÎROC Circle ambassador since 2014, a relationship that has supported Da L.E.S. in reaching signature CIROC heights through music videos, events and tours.
“Da L.E.S’ music is the ideal soundtrack to any CÎROC celebration. He is rapidly rising to global heights and CÎROC is proud to support his goals, aspirations and growth” says Avukile Mabombo, brandhouse Reserve Marketing Manager.
